The equipment we use throughout your entire hunt is new and of extreme quality. We take what we do very seriously! This ensures you that your hunt with us will be comfortable and enjoyable.
Hunting will be from well scouted, and carefully placed tree stands or ground blinds. Hunting October and into November will put you in our pre-rut and rut... The pre-rut is a period of preparation for the Bucks; it is the time immediately before the does go into estrus. As the does get closer to this stage, bucks become more active - they begin making rubs and scrapes. Activity during daylight hours increases slightly. This is the time when the bucks are most vulnerable to bowhunters. In Spruce Woods (GHA-30) with our buck numbers being high, it's not uncommon to see action any time of the day. Bucks will actively be checking their rub and scrape lines, and looking for receptive does. Concentrations of large rubs indicate an area used regularly by a good buck. Well defined scrape lines mark used travel routes. The pre-rut is a prime time for rattling and grunting techniques also.....
These techniques have been proven to be very successful in this area of Manitoba. ("Joe Blake" from Bowhunter Magazine along with many other clients of mine have had exciting action Rattling and Grunting in rut crazed Whitetails.)

Winnipeg our camp is about a two hour drive by truck. Our guides will
be stopping in the town of Portage la Prairie for those who will want
to acquire any liquor, carbonated drinks, etc...
Now
for the most important segments of any guided hunt... "That would
be your guide"... Spruce Woods Outfitters has taken great time
and effort in ensuring that all our guides are courteous and knowledgeable.
While you are in camp, the guides will look after all of your needs
including transportation to the camp, to your tree stand and back, field
dressing and transportation of your animal, caping and quartering your
animal, scouting new areas for different whitetail deer, and setting
up all tree stands... We
at Spruce Woods Outfitters install many tree stands to assure you the
best hunt possible. All our guides are certified and licenced by the
Manitoba government. They have their hunter and firearm safety courses,
they also hold a current and valid first aid and CPR certification. Keep
in mind, Spruce Woods Outfitters is a small private outfitting operation
that dedicates lots of time to detail, and several steps have been taken
to ensure personalized service for our clients. We're in our area year
round scouting new hunting areas. We continually study the deer and
their habits throughout the different seasons and shed hunting is something
we do year round. In
